From November you can get around Ljubljana more easily! Now you can pay for your ticket on board the bus with your Mastercard card for a faster and more user-friendly experience. According to the latest Masterindex survey (2023), the payment card is becoming the payment method of choice for travel, leisure and recreation, and is increasingly trusted by cardholders for its usability and convenience when making such purchases. This is what inspired us to design a campaign focusing on the city of Ljubljana, presented as an attractive tourist destination with a variety of relaxation and leisure opportunities that are now even easier to reach.

With its technologically advanced system of direct payment for public transport with the Mastercard payment card (Tap and Ride), Ljubljana stands alongside the most advanced smart cities such as London, Amsterdam, New York, Sydney, Milan, etc. Through such technological advances and innovation, the city is actively developing its vision of an urban future based on sustainability, greater inclusiveness and an improved user experience.

The technology solution for ticket payment is complementary to the existing Urbana system and has been developed in partnership with Margento R&D d.o.o., Ljubljana Passenger Transport (LPP) and NLB Bank.
